I use “explication” to name an explanation that employs logic. Logic is about the ordering of information, such as thoughts (propositions) into arguments, where some thoughts or information are the reasons or evidence, and others are the conclusion or finding. Logic deals with propositions, not propositional attitudes, like belief. I call this an “explication” as it makes “explicit” thoughts, ideas, and assumptions.
